Matt received his B.S Degree in Health Physics from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He spent 5 years working in Duke University’s Radiation Safety Division, during which he obtained his online Master of Radiation Health Physics degree from Oregon State University. After graduating, he relocated to the Northeast to join a dual role with Landauer Medical Physics as a Radiation Safety Officer and Medical Physicist Assistant.
Originally from Pennsylvania, in 2022, Matt and his wife moved closer to home to start a family. After shadowing various Upstate Medical Physics staff members for several months, he recognized an opportunity to join a workplace culture he had been searching for. He joined UMP as a Medical Health Physicist and Medical Physicist Assistant in April, 2023. In the upcoming year, he hopes to gain the experience and credentials necessary to survey Mammography, MRI, CT, and Nuclear Medicine equipment independently.
